We never accept a person who receives a salary from this state bowing down and kissing the hand of someone who represents only a small part of politics."

CHP leader Özgür Özel made evaluations on the agenda at his party's group meeting. Özel, who reacted to Special Operations Chief Süleyman Karadeniz, who kissed the hand of MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli during his visit, said, "You have misunderstood being the police of the state. We were the group that entered the Parliament, resisted the coup, and showed the clearest stance against the coup when our Chairman Mr. Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu arrived in Istanbul very late and with difficulty. Bülent Tezcan said, 'It is time to stand up for democracy, it is time to stand on top of tanks,' he said on CNN's live broadcast. Levent Gök, Tekin Bingöl made calls to resist the coup. All our deputies who were there that day and all our deputies in their provinces stood up for democracy, the Parliament, and the will of the people. Because we know that if there was going to be a single ruler in this country, if he was going to use all the powers, there was only one person who could deserve it, who could be excused, who convinced Anatolia, which was invaded by 7 countries, of liberation first, then risked his life and saved it, then rebuilt this country, they asked Mustafa Kemal, who referred to the parliament he established before liberation, to April 23, 1920, and brought democracy, the will of the people that we are trying to protect today, instead of a single ruler regime. No one in this country could condescend to anything that Atatürk did not condescend to. It doesn't matter if it's Fethullah Gülen who did it, no matter who wants to be a single ruler; we are against it, we are behind democracy.

"THE PREFERENCE THAT CHP DOES NOT GIVE UP IS THE PARLIAMENTARY SYSTEM"

I openly say that this party has suggestions on how to govern this country in every aspect, to support struggles for workers, laborers, journalists, press freedom at the highest democratic standards, for agriculture, national education, foreign policy, defense industry, and will emphasize how it will govern this country step by step towards the upcoming election with all transparency. There should be no doubt that CHP's preference for the country's governance system is a strong parliament, a parliamentary system.

"WE GAVE INSTRUCTIONS TO IDENTIFY THOSE RESPONSIBLE IN IZMIR"

Regarding the incident in Izmir where two people lost their lives, we gave the following instruction to the Mayor of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality from the first minute; we will be in a decisive attitude in full cooperation with the prosecutors to identify those responsible and serve their punishments. With this self-confidence, belief, and approach, we are following the issue. I promise you as the leader of the CHP. We will propose the establishment of a Parliamentary Investigation Commission on this issue. I address those who say no to everything, saying 'if it will touch us in the end' when there is an accident, to the AKP and MHP. Maybe it will touch us. Take your hands off, let's prevent deaths. Establish that commission.

We are the world leader in fatal work accidents. We are ahead of neither Eritrea, nor Morocco, nor Mozambique. We are the first. No other country in the world has life this cheap, death this easy. No one dies to cool off in summer or to warm up in winter. Death is roaming in traffic, on the streets, on the sidewalks, on the balconies. No other country in the world has people dying from stove gas. There is no other country where 800 people die from suffocation every year. It is impossible to explain this situation in a country where 500 people die from gas leakage from the stove or fake alcohol. People do not drown in minibuses on viaducts in any country in the world. There is no other country where life is so cheap, death is so easy."
