The moment has come. The moment I never wanted to arrive, but one that is a part of football and life, where everything has a beginning and an end… I will play my last match at Santiago Bernabéu on Saturday.
I came in 2012 with the dream of wearing the jersey of the best team in the world and the desire to achieve great things, but I could never have imagined what would happen next. Playing for Real Madrid changed my life both as a player and as a person.
I am proud to be part of one of the brightest periods of the most successful club in history.
I thank the club with all my heart, especially President Florentino Pérez, my teammates, my coaches, and everyone who has helped me during this journey…
Over these years, I have experienced incredible moments; comebacks that seemed impossible, finals, celebrations, and magical nights at the Bernabéu… We won everything, and I was very happy. I was truly very, very happy.
But beyond the trophies and victories we won, I carry the love of the fans in my heart. I really don’t know how to explain the special bond that has been created between us.
