A dispute that started on social media in Istanbul's Fatih district ended in bloodshed. Ali Anzo, a Syrian national who was called to a park with the words "Let's make peace," was stabbed in the heart and killed without a word at the meeting point. After the incident, in which his friend who was with him is also fighting for his life in intensive care, the grieving father cried out, "Let the state take our right."
Ali Anzo, 19, lost his life in a knife fight that broke out between a group of Syrian nationals who met to "make peace" after arguing on social media in Fatih. Another person seriously injured in the fight continues to receive treatment in intensive care.
The incident occurred yesterday at around 02:00 in front of a park on Imam Hussein Street in the Yedikule neighborhood. According to allegations, 4 Syrian nationals, who had argued on social media for an unknown reason, made an appointment to talk and make peace.
THEY WENT TO SO-CALLED RECONCILIATION, ATTACKED WITH KNIVES
The argument that started among the group that gathered in front of the park quickly grew and turned into a fight. In the fight, Ali Anzo (19) and Ali Hilal were seriously injured by stabbing. Police and medical teams were dispatched to the address upon the report. Ali Anzo, who was taken to the hospital after first aid and was learned to have been stabbed in the heart, could not be saved despite all the doctors' efforts. It was learned that Ali Hilal, who was taken to intensive care, is fighting for his life.
THE FATHER'S WORDS BROKE HEARTS
The grieving father, Hussein Anzo, shed tears, saying, "My son died immediately. We went to the hospital, there was nothing left... Let the state take my right, that's all I want."
"THEY ATTACKED WITHOUT SAYING ANYTHING"
The victim's cousin, Alaa Hasan, who described the moment of the incident, recounted the horror with these words:
"The boys first argued on Instagram. Then they said, 'Come here, let's make peace.' Our boy, while sitting with his friends, took a friend with him so he wouldn't be alone and went to talk. When they arrived, the other side attacked directly without saying anything. One is in intensive care, the other has passed away. When his father went, he found the child already on the ground, stabbed in the heart."
Police teams launched a large-scale operation to catch the attackers who fled after the incident.
