In the investigation into betting allegations in football, a new development has occurred regarding Eyüpspor President Murat Özkaya and Vice President Fatih Kulaksız, who were arrested.
THEY WERE ARRESTED AND SENT TO PRISON
Murat Özkaya and Fatih Kulaksız, detained as part of the "football betting" investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, were arrested by the court they were brought before and sent to prison.
RELEASE DECISION ISSUED
A release decision has been issued for Eyüpspor President Murat Özkaya and Vice President Fatih Kulaksız, who were in custody within the scope of the investigation. It was learned that the betting investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office is ongoing.
WHAT HAPPENED?
Özkaya and 8 suspects, including 6 referees, were arrested on November 10, 2025, as part of the investigation known to the public as "referees' membership in betting sites."
Following technical and physical surveillance coordinated by the Chief Prosecutor's Office by teams from the Istanbul Police Department's Cyber Crime Branch, a simultaneous operation was conducted in November 2025 in Istanbul-based provinces including Ankara, Şanlıurfa, Kütahya, Manisa, İzmir, Trabzon, Diyarbakır, Bolu, Edirne, Malatya, Antalya, and Kırklareli, after a detention order was issued for 21 suspects.
