Two young people who went to the roof in Sancaktepe, Istanbul to feed birds found their hobby turned into a struggle for survival under heavy rain due to an unfortunate accident. When the door key broke, the young people trapped on the roof were rescued with the help of the fire department under heavy rain.
TRAPPED WHEN THE KEY BROKE
The incident occurred in a four-story building on Gülüm Street in the Osmangazi neighborhood of Sancaktepe. Allegedly, two friends who went to the roof to take care of the birds they were feeding experienced a great shock when they wanted to go back inside after finishing their tasks. The key in the hands of the young people trying to open the door broke inside the lock.
DESPERATE WAITING UNDER HEAVY RAIN
With the door remaining locked, the young people trapped on the roof also struggled against the intensifying heavy rain. Unable to get down by their own means and soaked to the skin, the duo immediately began searching for locksmiths. However, since it was late, they received the response from the locksmiths, "We can come in the morning," leaving the young people desperate, and as a last resort, they reported the situation to the fire department.
EVACUATION WITH THE FIRE DEPARTMENT LADDER
Upon the notification, the fire department teams arrived at the scene quickly and set up a fire ladder on the street. The two young people waiting on the roof were safely lowered to the street in the fire basket.
After the operation, it was reported that the health conditions of the young people were good, while local residents watched the operation with curious eyes.
