Snowfall has started to show its effects in some areas of Istanbul. In the European side, vehicles and building roofs in Silivri and Çatalca have turned white. Meanwhile, a yellow code warning has been issued for 41 provinces in the weather report published for the new day.
According to the data from the General Directorate of Meteorology (MGM), there is precipitation across the entire country today. With the new cold air wave coming from Ukraine, it is expected that this precipitation will be in the form of snow in almost all cities except for İzmir and the Mediterranean coasts.
TEMPERATURES ARE DROPPING
The air temperature is expected to decrease significantly in the northern and western regions, dropping to around 2-3 degrees in Istanbul. With this drop in temperature, it is anticipated that the precipitation will turn to snow even in some districts of İzmir and Antalya, as well as in higher areas.

MGM issued a yellow code warning for Adana, Adıyaman, Amasya, Bingöl, Bitlis, Çorum, Diyarbakır, Elazığ, Erzincan, Erzurum, Gaziantep, Giresun, Gümüşhane, Hakkari, Hatay, Kayseri, Konya, Malatya, Kahramanmaraş, Mardin, Muş, Nevşehir, Niğde, Ordu, Rize, Samsun, Siirt, Sivas, Tokat, Trabzon, Tunceli, Şanlıurfa, Van, Yozgat, Aksaray, Bayburt, Karaman, Batman, Şırnak, Kilis, and Osmaniye.

THE EXPECTED PRECIPITATION IN ISTANBUL HAS STARTED
Following the warnings from the General Directorate of Meteorology and the Istanbul Governorship, the expected snowfall in the megacity has begun to show its effects in some districts. With the drop in temperatures in the city, snow fell in the high areas of Silivri and Çatalca on the European side. Due to the effective snow in the Akören neighborhood of Silivri, the tops of vehicles and the roofs of buildings were covered in white.
SNOWFALL ON THE ASIAN SIDE
The snowfall that started in different districts of Istanbul has also shown itself in the high areas of the Asian side. Snowfall began early in Pendik Aydos Forest, Beykoz Kavacık, Çekmeköy, and Çamlıca Hill. As the snow fell, a white cover formed in certain areas, while the wind was also effective in some places.
