The CHP Muğla Provincial Presidency announced that CHP Milas District President Ahmet Kılbey has resigned from his position following the initiation of an investigation regarding the cutting down of numerous olive trees on land claimed to belong to the party. In the statement, it was said, "Our Milas district president has resigned in order to prevent any harm to our determined march and the disciplined stance of our organization."
Upon news published in some local media in Muğla's Milas district under the headline "Olive Massacre in Milas," the Muğla Governorship has initiated an investigation. The investigation revealed that a large number of olive trees were cut down on the land with parcel number 26 in block 109 located in the Menteş neighborhood of Milas district.
GOVERNORSHIP INITIATED AN INVESTIGATION
In the investigation conducted by the governorship, it was claimed that the land where the olives were cut down belonged to CHP District Chairman Ahmet Kılbey. In a statement made by the Muğla Governorship, it was expressed that the necessary administrative and legal processes regarding the incident have been initiated, the investigation is ongoing, and the public will be informed after the completion of the examinations.
