While the audits of fake insurance and irregular retirement by the Social Security Institution (SGK) continue unabated, it has been stated that the retirements of hundreds of thousands of individuals identified for irregularities have been canceled and their salaries have been reclaimed.
The Social Security Institution (SGK) has accelerated its inspections targeting those who obtained retirement rights through fraudulent insurance. The institution has started to examine individuals who retired especially after 2016 and are deemed to have suspicious files.
"FAKE COMPANIES" UNDER SCRUTINY
During the inspections, premiums paid through "fake companies" were primarily scrutinized. Notifications were sent to the addresses of individuals who retired and were granted old-age pensions through this method. SGK has also begun to investigate files of individuals who are believed to have gained retirement rights through fake health reports.
NOTIFICATIONS SENT TO RESIDENT ADDRESSES
SGK sends official notifications to the residential addresses of individuals where it detects suspicion of irregularities in the first stage. The letter requests a defense to be submitted by applying to the SGK district directorate mentioned in the letter. The institution emphasizes the importance of responding to the invitation within 3 business days.
5-YEAR PAYMENTS REFUNDED WITHOUT INTEREST
If the error is found to be from the institution as a result of the examination, the last 5 years of payments are refunded without interest. If it is determined that the irregularity originated from the citizen, the salary payments for the past 10 years are collected along with interest. In an operation conducted last year against a structure referred to as the "Joker Gang" in Aydın, the retirements of hundreds of individuals were canceled.
RETIREMENTS OF HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE CANCELED
While it is stated that the institution has been conducting such inspections for a long time, it has been reported that the retirements of hundreds of thousands of individuals have been canceled so far. It was noted that some individuals appeared as business partners to retire more easily from SSK while being insured at another workplace, gaining retirement rights through this method, but their retirements were canceled as a result of the inspections conducted.
