Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez criticized the U.S. decision to impose travel restrictions on his country in a statement made on the social media platform X.
"HAVING A RACIST BACKGROUND"
Rodriguez stated, "The new U.S. entry ban on citizens from many countries has a racist background supported by anti-Cuba politicians. This practice disrupts communication among Cuban families; it harms personal, professional, academic, and cultural exchanges between the two countries."
WHAT HAPPENED?
U.S. President Trump had banned the travel of citizens from 12 countries, citing "threats to national security" as the reason.
Trump also imposed travel restrictions on citizens of Burundi, Cuba, Laos, Sierra Leone, Togo, Turkmenistan, and Venezuela.
