A statement that would alarm the entire world has come from Russia. Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov stated that if an attempt is made on the territorial integrity of his country, they would use nuclear weapons in response, adding, 'Do not try to test Russia on whether it is determined about this.'

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov made statements to journalists on the agenda at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF).

“WE WILL USE NUCLEAR WEAPONS IF AN ATTEMPT IS MADE ON THE INTEGRITY OF OUR TERRITORIES”

Assessing the possibility of Russia using nuclear weapons, Ryabkov stated that the situations regarding this are defined in Russian military doctrine.

Ryabkov said, "In the event that aggressors, including those who do not possess such weapons, attempt to violate the territorial integrity of Russia, in the worst-case scenario, this could lead to us responding with nuclear weapons."

Emphasizing that this should be taken seriously, Ryabkov stated, "Do not try to test Russia on whether it is determined about this."

"OUR PROPOSAL ON ENRICHED URANIUM IS NOT NEEDED"

Ryabkov also touched on the situation regarding Iran, stating, "Mutual attacks are again in question. This distances the parties from the possibility of reaching an agreement."

Reminding that Russia made a proposal to remove enriched uranium from Iran, Ryabkov said, "For now, this proposal of ours is not needed. We hope the negotiating parties will return to this issue."

Regarding Armenia's rapprochement with the European Union (EU), Ryabkov stated, "Recent events show that Armenia must make a choice. I hope this choice will be towards strengthening the traditional, deep, brotherly relations with Russia. This would be historically correct. I am confident that the Armenian people have always gained and will continue to gain from this."

"IAEA IS APPLYING DOUBLE STANDARDS"

Drawing attention to attacks by the Ukrainian army on the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant, which is under Russian control, Ryabkov criticized the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) for applying "double standards" on this issue.

Sergey Ryabkov emphasized that they strongly condemn the attack carried out by the Ukrainian army with unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) on St. Petersburg.

Stating that the Kiev administration is supported by Western countries, Ryabkov said they do not want to end their provocative actions against Russia.
