The Istanbul Governorship announced that schools will be closed from 4:00 PM due to the expected heavy rainfall in the megacity.
The statement made by the Istanbul Governorship is as follows;
"According to the evaluations made by the General Directorate of Meteorology, due to the expected thunderstorm and heavy rain starting in the European side of Istanbul after noon today, and to prevent any inconveniences that may arise from potential traffic congestion, education in public and private kindergartens, primary schools, secondary schools, and high schools that conduct dual education in our province has been suspended from 16:00 onwards."
Our school administrations will inform our parents. Parents who wish can pick up their children. For working parents, necessary precautions will be taken by the school management and on-duty teachers until the children are picked up."
