SCANDALOUS WORDS
Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar made a scandalous statement at the Munich Security Conference. Speaking in response to a question from a Palestinian journalist, Sa'ar said, "The Palestinians are more interested in destroying Israel than establishing their own state. We have an enemy that never gives up on the path of provocation. The place you call Palestine is Israeli territory."
Sa'ar noted that one of Israel's targets in Gaza is to bring back all hostages, stating, "Every hostage we bring back brings us closer to achieving this goal."
HOSTAGE EXCHANGE CRISIS
Meanwhile, significant developments occurred in the hostage exchange crisis between Israel and Hamas. The spokesperson for Hamas's military wing, Izzeddin al-Qassam Brigades, Abu Ubaida, announced that the hostage exchange expected to take place on February 15 was suspended due to Israel's failure to fulfill its commitments in the ceasefire agreement.
In a statement made by Hamas, it was mentioned that the decision to suspend was announced five days before the hostage exchange, thus giving mediating countries the opportunity to exert pressure on Israel to adhere to the ceasefire terms.
U.S. President Donald Trump stated that if all hostages in Gaza were not released by noon on Saturday, the ceasefire should be canceled, saying, "Then let the apocalypse begin."
Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu threatened that if Israeli hostages were not released, "the ceasefire would end and they would begin violent attacks," and he ordered the army to send reinforcements into and around Gaza.
Hamas announced yesterday that it would continue to implement the hostage exchange under the agreement, based on the commitment of mediating countries to remove obstacles related to Israel's ceasefire agreement.
