Kaya Çilingiroğlu insists on not leaving the apartment in the gated community with a pool, where he pays a monthly rent of 10,000 TL, located in Etiler. As the only remaining tenant in the building that was vacated as part of the urban transformation project, Çilingiroğlu had the services reconnected with a precautionary order after the electricity and water were cut off. However, he lost the eviction case filed by the landlord Numan C., and the court ruled that Çilingiroğlu must vacate the apartment.
Famous sports commentator Kaya Çilingiroğlu did not get the result he wanted from the court in the eviction crisis he experienced with the landlord in the luxury site where he rented in Etiler. While all the apartments in the site, which will undergo urban transformation, are being vacated, only Çilingiroğlu continues to resist. Çilingiroğlu, who does not want to vacate his apartment in the pool site where he pays approximately 10,000 TL rent, has gone to court with the landlord Numan C. The landlord requested Çilingiroğlu's eviction in July 2024, citing that strengthening works would be carried out in the building, but this request was left unanswered. When the electricity and water of the apartment were cut off, the matter was taken to court.
ÇILINGIROĞLU IS PERSISTENT
Çilingiroğlu applied to the Civil Court of Peace for the restoration of electricity, water, and site services. The court issued a precautionary decision to reopen the subscriptions and continue the site services.
LANDLORD IS STUBBORN
However, despite all the residents of the site leaving, the landlord Numan C. returned to court only in the face of Çilingiroğlu's resistance. In the case heard at the Istanbul Civil Court of Peace, the court ruled in favor of the landlord this time. A ruling was made for Çilingiroğlu to vacate the house and for the electricity to be cut off. According to a report by Sabah, after the court's decision, Çilingiroğlu took the case to a higher court, temporarily postponing the eviction process. On the other hand, claims that Çilingiroğlu demanded 2 million TL from the landlord in exchange for moving have also created a public agenda. It remains a matter of curiosity how Çilingiroğlu, who stands out as the last tenant of the site being vacated as part of urban transformation, will fare in his legal battle.
