Selahattin Taşdöğen shared for the first time the major accident he experienced on set years later. He described the accident he had during filming with the following words: "I hit the chandelier in a scene, fell to the ground, and fainted. I was taken to the hospital, but at that moment, I was face to face with death. I owe my life to Yonca Evcimik. She saved my life by taking me to another hospital."

The master artist stated that he experienced memory loss for 15 days after the accident, describing that period as "the hardest days of my life." Taşdöğen said, "When I woke up, I couldn't remember many things. But that day showed me how precious friendship is. If it weren't for Yonca, I might not be here today."

Taşdöğen stated that despite the health issues he faced throughout his career, he has never been away from theater and cinema, saying, "During a film shoot in Akçay, I experienced 15 days of vision loss due to light sources. I played for years with glasses that were 12 number and 222 grams in 'Dürüyenin Güğümleri.' But I never left the stage." The master actor, who defined his 58-year artistic life as "a lifetime struggle," concluded his words by saying, "Art is my breath.
