Security camera footage has emerged showing the moment when Mustafa Emlik, a prison escapee who killed three people and injured seven in the Edremit district of Balıkesir, shot Specialist Sergeant Kemal Ekri. In the footage, Emlik is seen kicking Ekri's vehicle and then firing a gun at the specialist sergeant as he gets out of his car.
"Threat", "insult", "robbery", "fraud", "intentional injury" crimes, Mustafa Emlik (36), who has 6 criminal records, was reported to have stabbed his boss at his workplace in Istanbul in 2013, received a 22 years and 3 months prison sentence for this crime in 2019, and was brought to Burhaniye Type T Closed Open Penal Institution. It was learned that he gained the right to transition to Çanakkale Open Penal Institution on June 26, 2025, but he did not surrender and fled.
HE KILLED HIS FIRST VICTIM WITH 5 BULLETS
It was determined that Emlik, who worked at a construction company in Edremit, fell in love with A.C. and on the day of the incident, he shot Olcay Özdemir (30) at his home with 5 shots for an unknown reason in İkizçay Neighborhood.
KILLED THE SPECIALIST SERGEANT AND ROBBED HIS VEHICLE
After leaving the house, Emlik stopped the vehicle of specialist sergeant Kemal Ekri with license plate 46 AHZ 090, shot Ekri with a gun, and then robbed his vehicle. It was also understood that after injuring D.C., A.C's brother, whom he was in love with, he also injured A.C's ex-boyfriend R.Ö at his workplace. It was determined that Emlik injured V.Ö, with whom he had an argument while escaping in the vehicle, in the throat, and R.K, whom he asked for directions, in the leg.

Footage of Mustafa Emlik cutting off the path of specialist sergeant Kemal Ekri, who was serving in the 19th Commando Brigade Command, has emerged. In the footage, Emlik is seen kicking Ekri's vehicle and shooting at Ekri, who got out of his vehicle. The fallen specialist sergeant Ekri died at the scene.
As those moments were recorded second by second by a nearby security camera, it was learned that the footage was shared on social media shortly before.
CONFRONTED WITH YUNUS POLICE
It was learned that Emlik, who shot geologist Göktuğ Çalık for not giving way, also injured M.N, who was with him, and later shot police officer İ.G during an armed confrontation with the motorized police team known as "Yunuslar" while advancing from Ülkü Yolu to Hamidiye Neighborhood. He also injured police officer Ü.I while heading towards Balıkesir on the main road.

With the intervention of other teams, Emlik, who was neutralized here, was also found to have security camera footage regarding the attacks he carried out on the night of the incident. In the footage, Emlik is seen shooting R.K, whom he asked for directions, in the leg from inside the vehicle, R.K waiting for an ambulance in front of a workplace, and Emlik coming to the kiosk and injuring R.Ö and D.C while walking on the street.
WHAT HAPPENED?
Last night in Edremit district, prison fugitive Mustafa Emlik killed specialist sergeant Kemal Ekri, then attempted to escape by robbing his vehicle, killed Göktuğ Çalık, and injured 7 people, including 2 police officers. Emlik was neutralized during the confrontation with the police.
Ekri's funeral was held in Ankara, while the funerals of Çalık and Özdemir were buried after the ceremony held in Edremit.
