While the investigation into the murder of 8-year-old Narin Güran in Diyarbakır continues, striking details were included in a report prepared by officials affiliated with the ministry regarding the psychosocial conditions of children in the Tavşantepe neighborhood. SUPPORT IS PROVIDED TO NEARLY 50 CHILDRENTeams from the Ministry of Family and Social Services went to the Tavşantepe neighborhood and started psychosocial support activities. Social workers, psychologists, and psychological counselors affiliated with the ministry, who continued their work during the process of Narin's disappearance and the discovery of her body, as well as the reopening of schools, are providing support to nearly 50 children aged 7-13. PRELIMINARY REPORT SENT TO THE MINISTRYThe preliminary report prepared by the psychosocial support team regarding the sessions held with children on various topics, from stress, anxiety, and fear during safe area activities to their hopes for the future, has been completed and sent to the ministry. "THEY DO NOT TALK ABOUT THE SITUATION THEY EXPERIENCED"In the preliminary report prepared by the field teams regarding the situation of the children in the Tavşantepe neighborhood, it was noted that "the children do not talk about the situation they experienced, and they may have suppressed or been unable to comprehend this situation." Additionally, the report expressed the possibility that "families have strongly advised the children not to discuss the matter." It was also evaluated that the presence of numerous gendarmerie and search and rescue teams in the village during the process affected the children's daily routines, making it difficult for them to adapt both psychologically and socially. MINISTER GÖKTAŞ'S INSTRUCTION TO "INVESTIGATE IN DEPTH"It has been learned that Minister Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş instructed for a more in-depth examination of the children's situations following the initial report. In this context, it has been learned that a more comprehensive team has been formed within the ministry to increase the psychological well-being of the children in the Tavşantepe neighborhood and to restore their daily routines to their previous state. It was stated that a special team for Tavşantepe would be established under the Directorate of Psychosocial Support in Disasters and Emergencies, and work on grief and trauma for the children in the village is planned to be conducted soon. It was noted that more comprehensive studies would begin immediately after the completion of the investigation.
