Öktem's wife, mother, father, boxer Avni Yıldırım, and close relatives of the Öktem family attended the ceremony. It was learned that Öktem was a Galatasaray supporter, and a Galatasaray scarf was placed on his coffin. The family received condolences in the mosque courtyard. After the funeral prayer, Öktem's body was buried in Kocasinan Cemetery.
