New accusations have emerged against Erzincan MP Mustafa Sarıgül, who has recently been in the public spotlight due to harassment allegations raised about him. In his statement, Caner Dursun, who claims he was harassed by Sarıgül, alleged, "My friend Hasan and I would go in together and massage him. In a way, we had to massage him. When he came into the room, he would say, 'Touch, kids, touch, come on now.'"
Within the scope of the investigation into Mustafa Sarıgül, a suspect named C.D. gave testimony. In his statement to the prosecutor's office, he stated that while he was a high school student he was introduced to Sarıgül at youth camps he attended, that he later began working at the municipality, and that Sarıgül made sexually motivated advances toward him and some of his colleagues. C.D. said, 'Because we were young and afraid of not finding a job, we did what he said. Mustafa Sarıgül would directly assign people who did not meet his demands to positions we called exile.'
'THEY WOULD CONVINCE YOUNG PEOPLE BY SAYING YOU WILL BE LEADERS'
C.D., recounting that in 2004 he was studying in the electronics department at Şişli Industrial Vocational High School and began an internship at Şişli Municipality through his father, spoke as follows: 'The person responsible for Mustafa Sarıgül's youth camps at that time was the then mukhtar A.S. A.S. would introduce high school students to Mustafa Sarıgül under the name of a leadership camp. He would convince young people by saying, You will be leaders, you will reach high positions, and would introduce them to Mustafa Sarıgül under the youth camps. The youth camps were held at a hotel in Uludağ, at Şişli Municipality's camp in Şile, and at a hotel in Kumburgaz. I attended the youth camp in Kumburgaz two or three times.'
C.D., alleging that at the camps students were made to memorize anthems and were given various promises, said, 'At that time, because we were young, we were affected by these anthems. When we came before Sarıgül, my friends and I would shout and sing these anthems one by one, and Sarıgül would bang on the table and say, You are a leader; you will become president. The children would also get excited and want to become close to Sarıgül.'
'WE HAD TO GIVE MASSAGES'
C.D., alleging that during Sarıgül's term as mayor he summoned employees to his room and had them massage him, claimed that he himself was exposed to these incidents. In his statement, C.D. said, 'When Mustafa Sarıgül was mayor, he would call many people to his room to have them massage him. His bodyguard H.H., who was with Mustafa Sarıgül, is our friend who was also exposed to Mustafa Sarıgül's physical assaults. Because Mustafa Sarıgül was the mayor at that time and a powerful politician, everyone was afraid of him. He would call the employees working with him to his room and then call them into the bedroom at the back of the room. There was a shower cabin and a bed in the bedroom; he would have the people he called in massage him. My friend H. and I would go in together and massage him. In a way, we had to give massages.'
Also conveying Sarıgül's words directed at them, C.D. said, 'When we entered the room, he would say, Touch, kids, touch, come on, let's see. Because we were young and afraid of not finding a job, we did what he said. Because Mustafa Sarıgül presented high school students at the youth camp as role models for himself, we believed his promises. I did not enjoy massaging him.'
C.D., arguing that employees who did not fulfill Sarıgül's requests were sent to other duties, said, 'So to speak, Mustafa Sarıgül established an empire of fear and would directly assign people who did not meet his demands to positions we called exile.'
HE RELAYED WHAT THE CLEANING STAFF MEMBER TOLD HIM
C.D. alleged that a cleaning staff member named M., whom he said worked with Sarıgül, also told him about certain incidents. Claiming that M. came to him sadly one day, C.D. said in his statement, 'The woman named M. came to me sadly at that time. She also resided in Mecidiyeköy. She stated sadly that she no longer had the strength to endure, that she did not want to work. She said that Mustafa Sarıgül forcibly gave instructions and forced her to have sexual intercourse with B.Ö., and that when M. had sexual intercourse with B.Ö., he watched from the door.'
DETENTION DECISIONS WERE ISSUED FOR 10 MORE PEOPLE
Within the scope of the investigation, it was stated that detention decisions were issued for 10 more people, including A.S., who was said to be responsible for Şişli Municipality's youth camps, two close bodyguards of Sarıgül, a person working as a barber in Ankara, two sisters who are alleged to have been abused in the past, and the cleaning staff member who is claimed to be connected to the recording of the footage.
