In the Narlıdere district of İzmir, an important development has occurred in the investigation regarding the death of 26-year-old Dorukhan Büyükişık, the son of retired Major General Ethem Büyükışık, who was found dead at a construction site 7 years ago. Strong suspicions have emerged that the incident was a murder. A case has been filed against 5 suspects, seeking aggravated life imprisonment.
Within the scope of the investigation conducted by the İzmir Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, security camera footage from the scene was obtained and examined, and subscriber information was identified through the phone number that made the report. Based on the autopsy and expert committee reports prepared by the Forensic Medicine Institution, an assessment was made regarding the cause of death of Dorukhan Büyükışık, the 26-year-old son of retired Major General Ethem Büyükışık, who was found dead at a construction site 7 years ago.
DNA, CORRESPONDENCE, FINGERPRINTS EXAMINED Additionally, the possibility of falling from the 27-meter-high building where the incident occurred was investigated. In this context, experts from the Turkish Mountaineering Federation conducted a reconnaissance at the scene. Fingerprint and DNA analyses were performed on the victim's mobile phone, HTS and GPRS records were examined, and electronic correspondences were investigated.
Dorukhan Büyükışık The crime scene and construction area were thoroughly examined, and the locations and distances of the suspects on the date of the incident were determined. The suspects' statements were also taken in detail.
THERE WERE 4 GUARDS AND 1 WORKER AT THE CONSTRUCTION SITE As a result of the technical and forensic examinations, it was determined that in the obtained camera recordings, after parking the victim's vehicle, the suspect H.K entered the construction site by passing near the guardhouse where he was located. It was established that on the date of the incident, H.K, H.A, T.Ç, A.G were present as guards, and B.Ç was present as a worker at the construction site.
"STATEMENTS ARE CONTRADICTORY, DEATH NOT CONSISTENT WITH FALLING FROM HEIGHT" It was noted that there were contradictions in the suspects' statements, and it could not be clearly determined who and how the act that caused the victim's death was carried out. However, in the autopsy and expert reports, it was assessed that the death was not consistent with falling from a height, and it was considered that the victim might have been killed by being struck with a hard object on the back area.
Retired Major General Ethem Büyükışık LAWSUIT FILED AGAINST 5 PEOPLE The İzmir Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, with the opinion that there is sufficient suspicion and evidence that the suspects committed the crime of 'intentional killing in participation', filed a lawsuit against 5 people at the İzmir Heavy Penal Court, requesting life imprisonment in accordance with Article 81/1 of the Turkish Penal Code.
8 POLICE OFFICERS WILL ALSO BE TRIED On the other hand, a lawsuit had been filed against 8 police officers who were on duty at the crime scene for the charge of 'abuse of office'. The trials of the police officers will begin in the coming days at the İzmir 2nd Criminal Court of First Instance.
