Şevval Sam did not answer questions regarding femicides.

08.10.2024 12:00

Last night, at an event, Şevval Sam answered questions from the press. However, she avoided responding to questions regarding the murders of Ayşenur, İkbal, and other women who were brutally taken from life.

Recently, the brutal murder of İkbal Uzuner and Ayşenur Halil by Semih Çelik has plunged all of Turkey into mourning. Many women have organized protests against the increasing femicides.

The oppression, harassment, and murders that women face every day, even every minute, have made everyone say enough is enough, while many famous figures have expressed their reactions to the horrific incident in strong terms.

Especially in these days when femicides should not be off the agenda for a moment, Şevval Sam, who has not made any posts on her social media account, was recently spotted by Magazin Burada reporters.

'DON'T TALK ABOUT BAD THINGS'

Startled by the reporters' attempt to introduce the topic by saying, "Should we call it Turkey's unfortunate fate?", Şevval Sam refused to talk about the issue. "Let's not talk about bad things at all. Please don't get into it, it becomes very silly, please don't. It's already a bleeding wound, not tonight," she stated.

RECEIVED BACKLASH ON SOCIAL MEDIA

Social media users harshly criticized Şevval Sam's attitude. Some users commented, 'now whatever we say, they will say stop, the anger will be directed at a woman instead of Şevval Sam,' 'the brutality experienced by the 2 girls and thousands of women that Şevval Sam does not want to talk about and describes as bad things'.
