THE AGGRESSIVE HUSBAND WAS STOPPED BY BEING SHOT IN THE LEG
Upon Sinem Dönmez's screams, gendarmerie teams arrived at the scene. The teams stopped Enver Dönmez, who continued to stab his wife, by shooting him in the leg. Sinem Dönmez, who suffered 27 stab wounds and was severely injured, was taken to İskenderun State Hospital by the ambulance that arrived at the scene. Enver Dönmez was arrested by the duty magistrate he was brought before. Dönmez, who underwent surgery three times, has managed to hold on to life again.
"I TRUST JUSTICE"
The Kırıkhan Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has filed a case against Enver Dönmez for "intentional murder of a spouse" at the Kırıkhan Heavy Penal Court. The first hearing of the case will be held on September 23. Before the hearing, Sinem Dönmez spoke to ANKA News Agency. Dönmez said, "On May 30, while I was in the car with my seatbelt on, my husband tried to kill me by cutting my throat in front of my 4-year-old child. I currently have 27 stab wounds on my body. The gendarmes who happened to be there saved me. He was only stopped by being shot in the leg because he did not comply with the gendarmerie's warning to stop and continued to stab me. Our first hearing will be on September 23. I want him to receive the punishment he deserves. I want the penalties to be deterrent. I trust justice," she said.
