SHIPYARD WORKERS REPORTED THE INCIDENT
The incident occurred at the Dentaş Shipyard operating in the shipyard region on Güzün Street, Aydıntepe District, Tuzla. According to obtained information, flames suddenly rose inside a ship undergoing maintenance and repair work. Noticing the situation, shipyard workers promptly notified fire and police authorities.
BROUGHT UNDER CONTROL, INVESTIGATION LAUNCHED
Fire crews arriving at the shipyard shortly initiated a large-scale effort to extinguish the fire on the ship and prevent it from spreading to the surroundings.
Fire teams arriving at the scene intervened in the fire on the ship and brought the flames under control. The fire was completely extinguished as a result of the teams' work, while investigations continue to determine whether any loss of life or injuries occurred in the incident.
An investigation has been launched to determine the cause of the fire.
