Uşak Mayor Özkan Yalım was detained on charges of 'bribery', 'extortion', and 'manipulating a tender'. While the repercussions of the incident continue, footage has emerged of Yalım being caught in a hotel room in Ankara with a 21-year-old municipal employee. During the search of the hotel room, it was claimed that the second phone, which Yalım refused to provide the password for, was found in the underwear of the 21-year-old young employee.
Striking details have emerged in the corruption and bribery operation launched against the Uşak Municipality. Uşak Mayor Özkan Yalım, who faces allegations of rigging tenders and bribery, was detained along with 21-year-old municipal staff member S.A. in a luxury hotel room in Ankara.

During the search of Yalım's hotel room, it was claimed that a second phone, which he refused to provide the password for, was found in the underwear of the 21-year-old young employee.
HAS A SOCIAL SECURITY RECORD IN THE MUNICIPALITY
It drew attention that the young woman, who had no record at the hotel, had an active social security record at the Uşak Municipality. The investigation also suggested that other individuals who did not even go to work were falsely represented as municipal staff and were put on the payroll.
HARSH REACTION FROM ÖZGÜR ÖZEL
On the other hand, CHP Chairman Özgür Özel reacted to the operation in a statement made at the World Congress of the Socialist International Youth Organization. Özel compared the ongoing process in Turkey to the developments in Brazil, recalling the example of Lula. Özel stated, "A process similar to what happened in Brazil is taking place in Turkey. Remember the slanders against Lula, his imprisonment, and the attempts to keep him out of the election. If we succeed, think about what we have achieved."
"WE ARE STANDING TALL"
Özel, who claimed that the CHP is under pressure, said, “Just last night, the Istanbul Chief Prosecutor, who has no authority, is currently bringing our Uşak Mayor to Istanbul. 19 of our mayors are inside. A trial is ongoing in Silivri where 450 of our friends are being prosecuted, 107 of whom are detained. We are under pressure all over Turkey, but we are standing tall.”
CHP'S KARAOBA: WHAT KIND OF LOGIC IS THIS?
CHP Uşak Deputy Ali Karaoba also reacted to the manner of the detention. Karaoba stated, “What kind of logic is it to detain someone in a hotel room when they could be detained at home?”
