New details have emerged regarding the DHKP/C operation conducted against the Sarıyer and Şişli municipalities. While the interrogation of 32 suspects is ongoing at the police station, among those detained is Kalender Özdemir, an advisor to Istanbul Metropolitan Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu.

It has been determined that a 'Needs Committee' (İKOM) was established to meet the needs of the DHKP/C armed terrorist organization and to provide financial support as part of the investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office. It was found that individuals named Doğan K. and Yunus B. requested financial support on behalf of the organization by negotiating with some municipalities, including Sarıyer Municipality, between 2014 and 2016.
32 PEOPLE DETAINED As part of the investigation, it was reported that the organization’s labor structure had taken over a company named Kazova Tekstil, which participated in tenders conducted by Sarıyer Municipality and some other municipalities between 2014 and 2015, and that sweaters and t-shirts were purchased to be distributed to children in these tenders. Additionally, it was noted that irregularities were detected in the tenders regarding these municipalities by the Inspector of the Ministry of Interior, that sweaters and t-shirts were delivered to the company without complying with the tender conditions, that purchases were made at prices above the market value, and that it could not be determined who or to whom the products were distributed. It was also determined that there were alterations made to the tender documents. In an operation conducted at 34 addresses related to the matter, 32 suspects were captured and detained, including some municipalities such as Sarıyer.
3 NAMES ARE MENTIONED IN THE INVESTIGATION It has been learned that former Maltepe Mayor Ali Kılıç was called as a 'victim', while former Şişli Mayor Hasan Hayri İnönü and former Şişli Deputy Mayor Abdurrahman Emir Sarıgül were called to testify as 'witnesses' in the investigation.
ACTIVE MUNICIPAL EMPLOYEES DETAINED It has been learned that among the suspects for whom a detention order was issued is former Sarıyer Mayor Şükrü Genç. Additionally, it has been reported that former deputy mayor I.E., three former deputy mayors of Ataşehir Municipality, a former deputy mayor of Maltepe, and two former deputy mayors from Şişli Municipality are also in custody.

IMAMOĞLU'S ADVISOR IS ALSO IN CUSTODY Striking details have emerged regarding the suspects accused of providing financial support to the armed terrorist organization. It has been determined that 13 of the detained suspects are still actively working in municipalities affiliated with the CHP. Among the details obtained regarding the investigation, it has been revealed that one of the detained suspects is Kalender Özdemir, the advisor to Istanbul Metropolitan Mayor (İBB) Ekrem İmamoğlu.
It has been established that Kalender Özdemir, who served as the Deputy Mayor in CHP district municipalities at the time of the crime, is currently working as a manager in the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, while Abdullah Der is also serving as the Deputy Mayor in another CHP district municipality.
It has been determined that Haydar Battal, one of the suspects, is still in a managerial position in CHP municipalities, and that Melih Morsümbül, who is wanted as a fugitive, is currently the Deputy Mayor of Manisa's Şehzadeler District after serving as the special secretary to the mayor.
It has also been learned that Sinan Çetiz, the Deputy Technical Mayor responsible for tenders in CHP municipalities, and Hatice Yazlık, the press and publication branch manager of Sarıyer Municipality, are among those detained.
