The words spoken by Galatasaray's backup goalkeeper Günay Güvenç to referee Yasin Kol during the halftime of the Alanyaspor-Galatasaray match have come to light. It was reported that Güvenç told the referee, "If you're brave enough, come inside," and as a result, he received a red card.
2-1 In the match where Galatasaray won against Alanyaspor, the result or referee decisions were not the main topic, but rather what happened during the halftime break took the spotlight again.
RED CARD DURING HALFTIME
Moreover, Galatasaray's backup goalkeeper Günay Güvenç and Alanyaspor General Coordinator Mevlüthan Çavuşoğlu received red cards. With the final whistle of the first half, Galatasaray fans approached referee Yasin Kol to express their dissatisfaction. As they entered the tunnel from the field, the gendarmerie tried to prevent the parties from coming together upon seeing the yellow-reds approaching Kol.
"YOU ARE STEALING FROM THE CLUB"
During this time, it was learned that Günay, targeting referee Yasin Kol, said, "You are stealing from the club. If you have the guts, come inside." Following this, Alanyaspor General Coordinator Mevlüthan Çavuşoğlu, who was present at the scene, intervened in the situation, and it was emphasized that a heated argument with insults occurred between the two. Referee Yasin Kol also expelled both Günay and Çavuşoğlu for this reason.
Galatasaray's goalkeeper stated that the incident was merely a dialogue between the two, saying, "There was nothing about refereeing. I did not insult the referee. If there was such a thing, I would stand tall and say it. I am not someone who does something and runs away. There cannot be any insults in the referee's report," he said.
Alanyaspor General Coordinator Mevlüthan Çavuşoğlu also stated in a television program he attended, "When the second half was about to start, the fourth referee came and said, 'The referee sent you off.' Günay was surprised. There was nothing between us. We asked the 4th referee, and he said, 'I was behind, I didn't see.' Neither of us did anything to be sent off. The TFF should correct this penalty on behalf of Günay and me," he said.
