MOTHER SPOKE

The mother of the bipolar patient who cut the principal's throat, Hanife Harbi, who lives right across from the school and was disturbed by the bell, spoke to the İhlas News Agency reporter after the tragic incident. The grieving mother said, "My child got sick after returning from military service. He was a very good and well-behaved child; everyone in the village values him, including our neighbors. But unfortunately, something like this happened to us. Due to this illness, he was treated in the hospital about 10 times. We had also taken a number and were waiting; we were going to admit him to the hospital, but this situation happened to us. He definitely did not tell us the reason for the bell sound that led to the incident; he has conversations with himself, but he did not say anything like that. I had gone to the Quran with my neighbors. He was brewing tea at home. His father went into the bathroom at home and came out, and he did not see it. We do not know where he got the knife; he had it with him. I was not at home; we were not there at that time, I did not see it. We are very sad. We are also very sorry for the injured brother, but thank God he is alive," she said.

"WE WERE WAITING IN LINE FOR THE HOSPITAL, WE WERE GOING TO ADMIT HIM"

Reiterating that they were waiting in line for their son's hospitalization, Harbi said, "We realized his illness after he returned from military service. He gets angry and is quick to lose his temper. He started having obsessions; he was fixating on certain situations. You shouldn't say anything to him; when you do, he would react by saying, 'Are you talking wrong?' That's why we were silent, we were waiting. We were already in line at the hospital; we were going to admit him," she said.
