UEFA has imposed a penalty on Galatasaray, banning them from playing with spectators and fining them 40,000 Euros due to the incidents that occurred during the Juventus match. The Yellow-Red club announced that they will appeal UEFA's decision.
The UEFA Disciplinary Board has imposed a spectator ban on Galatasaray for the away match against Liverpool in the Round of 16 of the UEFA Champions League.
OFFICIAL STATEMENT RELEASED
In a statement made by the club regarding the matter, it was stated, "Due to the incidents involving fans during the UEFA Champions League match we played away against Juventus on February 25, 2026, the UEFA Disciplinary Board has decided to impose a fine of 40,000 Euros on our club and to enforce a sanction of playing the next away match without spectators. An appeal will be made to the UEFA Appeals Board against this decision."
WHEN ARE THE MATCHES?
Galatasaray will face the English team Liverpool in the Round of 16 of the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday, March 10, in Istanbul, and on Wednesday, March 18, in England. With this penalty, the yellow-red fans will not be able to take their places in the stands for the away match.
