As the war between the US-Israel and Iran continues with full force on its 30th day, Iranian Parliament Speaker Kalibaf made striking statements. Kalibaf said, "The US public is talking about negotiations, but secretly plans a ground attack. Our armies are waiting for the US ground operation and are ready to punish its partners in the region."
The war between the US-Israel and Iran has been ongoing for 30 days. While the mutual attacks and military maneuvers of the parties have caused tensions to rise, a striking statement came from Iran today.
The Speaker of the Iranian Parliament, Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, stated that Iranian forces are ready for the arrival of US troops. In statements reported by the IRNA news agency, Qalibaf accused US President Donald Trump of being ready to negotiate with Iran while "secretly planning a ground attack."
"OUR MEN ARE WAITING TO SET THEM ON FIRE"
Qalibaf said, "The enemy is clearly sending a message of negotiation and secretly planning a ground attack. Our men are waiting for the American soldiers to land and to set them on fire."
THE TIMING CAUGHT ATTENTION
Earlier today, US media reported that the Pentagon is preparing for ground operations in Iran that could last for weeks. This news came after the announcement that 3,500 soldiers from the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit of the US military have arrived in the Middle East.
CLAIM THAT DISTURBS THE WORLD
While the Epic Fury Operation launched by the US against Iran continues, the Washington Post brought attention to a striking claim. According to reports based on government sources, it was reported that the US Department of Defense is preparing for a possible ground operation in Iran that could last for weeks. Sources indicated that the plans could initiate "a new phase" in the war, stating that this could be "significantly more dangerous" than the mutual attacks in the last four weeks.
OFFICIALS POINTED OUT THE RISKS
Officials stated that any ground operation would be different from a full-scale invasion, indicating that raids involving special forces could also take place as part of the operation. Sources highlighted the dangers this could pose, emphasizing that the ground operation could expose US soldiers to "drones and missiles, ground fire, and improvised explosive devices."
DIFFERENT OPTIONS ON THE TABLE
It was reported that the Pentagon is also considering operations targeting Harg Island, Iran's oil export center, and raids that could be conducted in coastal areas near the Strait of Hormuz. Some officials mentioned that a possible ground operation could last "a few weeks," while others suggested it could take "a few months."
"IT IS THE PENTAGON'S DUTY TO PRESENT OPTIONS TO THE COMMANDER-IN-CHIEF"
White House spokesperson Karoline Leavitt refrained from making definitive comments regarding the claims in the news, stating, "Preparing to present the Commander-in-Chief with the maximum number of options is the Pentagon's duty. This does not mean the President has made a decision."
US-ISRAEL'S ATTACKS ON IRAN
Israel and the US launched a military attack on Iran on February 28 while negotiations were ongoing between the Tehran and Washington administrations. Iran responded with attacks on targets it identified in several regional countries, including Qatar, the UAE, and Bahrain, where US bases are located, in addition to Israel. In the US-Israel attacks, former Iranian leader Ali Khamenei, along with many high-ranking officials, was killed.
