The trial regarding the allegations that Diet and Nutrition Specialist Dr. Ender Saraç sexually abused his 13-year-old son continued today at Istanbul 34th Heavy Penal Court. HE CLAIMED THAT HIS MOTHER WAS THREATENED BY HIS FATHER
M.S., in his statement with the guidance of a psychologist, stated that his parents were separated and lived in different apartments in the same building. He explained that his father would take him to the bathroom, claiming that he smelled bad. The child mentioned that his father pressured his mother to reconcile and stated that his mother accused his father of abuse in order to put an end to these actions, claiming that she was threatened by his father.
HE STATED THAT THE ABUSE ALLEGATIONS WERE FALSE
M.S. stated that when he told his mother about the abuse allegations, she did not believe him. He then reported the situation to the school guidance counselor, thinking that only his father would be called to the school and that his father would not be able to approach them again. He expressed that the abuse allegations were false.
"I WANT THE RESTRAINING ORDER TO LAST FOREVER"
After his statement, M.S. said, "If you can extend the restraining order, I want it to last forever. If it ends, it could ruin my life, make me very angry, or even cause harm to my mother. I am very afraid of this." Dr. Ender Saraç, in response to the child's statement, stated that his son's initial statement was memorized and that his statement in court was true. He mentioned that they have not seen each other for 8 months, so it was not possible for him to memorize anything.
THE TRIAL WAS ADJOURNED UNTIL JUNE 13
The appointed legal representative for the victim, M.S., expressed their belief that M.S.'s statements in court were memorized and stated that they were filing a complaint. The lawyer from the Ministry of Family also pointed out that victims often change their statements in cases of domestic abuse and requested that M.S.'s initial statement be taken into consideration. The court announced that the preparation of the judicial interview report and its submission to the case file would be awaited, and the trial was adjourned until June 13.
