The heavy snowfall and blizzard affecting Kahramanmaraş have negatively impacted transportation throughout the city. Due to the worsening weather conditions, especially in the northern districts, traffic came to a standstill in many areas.
According to the information obtained, many vehicles were stranded on the Göksun–Kayseri highway and the Elbistan–Nurhak route. Drivers faced difficulties in progressing due to heavy snow, blizzards, and icing, while long vehicle queues formed in some regions.
"AVOID TRAFFIC UNLESS ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY"
Upon receiving reports, highway, municipality, police, and gendarmerie teams were dispatched to the area. The teams began working tirelessly to reach citizens stranded on the roads and to reopen routes to traffic. Authorities warned against going out unless absolutely necessary and urged drivers to be careful and cautious.
In the city, where the adverse weather conditions are expected to continue, it was reported that snow removal efforts are ongoing.
