The Chairman of the Interior Affairs Commission of the Turkish Grand National Assembly and AK Party Istanbul Deputy Süleyman Soylu stated that he will leave active politics at the end of this term. Soylu also expressed that he finds the two-term rule in the Presidential Government System to be incorrect, saying, "I will put forth a desperate struggle for Tayyip Erdoğan to be elected once again."

The Chairman of the Interior Affairs Commission of the Turkish Grand National Assembly and AK Party Istanbul Deputy Süleyman Soylu met with representatives of media organizations at the Anadolu Broadcasters Federation's 'Anatolian Conversations' program.

"GAZA IS AN IMPORTANT POINT IN WORLD HISTORY"

Soylu stated regarding the ceasefire agreement in Gaza, "Yesterday in Gaza, in my opinion, it was revealed that the resistance of the oppressed, the innocent, and the rightful will not be defeated. No matter how big you are, no matter how strong you are, no matter how great your tyranny is, it is emphasized that you cannot prevail. I think it is an important point in world history, following the issue of Gaza that comes after Syria," he said.

"I FIND THE TWO-TERM RULE INCORRECT"

When asked about his views on the two-term rule in the Presidential Government System, Soylu said, "I find the two-term rule very wrong. What happened to Germany after Merkel? Everyone should ask themselves this question. It is going downwards, it is collapsing. Not just due to the automotive industry, not just due to an effect originating from China. In fact, the entire system has collapsed. The very simple policies that we describe, including the qualification of people, improving investment environments, horizontal policies; there is no capability to take even the slightest step in any of these policies. When Scholz said, 'I will build 400,000-500,000 houses' when he came, he couldn't do anything. And in many policies, including migration, energy, and the management of supply chains, they have not succeeded in any policy," he said.

"ÖCALAN IS THE LEADER OF BOTH PKK AND YPG"

In response to a question about the evaluation of the DEM Party's visit to Imralı and whether he is hopeful about the end of terrorism as a result of this process, Soylu said, "The status quo of the PKK has been the same since the day it was founded. What do I mean by this? The PKK was founded with 4 main elements: Turkey, Qandil, Syria, and Europe. Has the PKK been able to make any changes in these 4 main elements? Abdullah Öcalan, who founded the PKK, has been in prison for 25 years. The world has changed a lot in 25 years; terrorism has changed, the form of terrorism has changed, countries have changed, state understandings have changed, defense understandings have changed, everything has changed, but the PKK cannot change. The PKK was founded by 'Apo'. All its atrocities were committed by 'Apo'. No one can take a step in the PKK without the permission of the founding mind. Apo is a ruthless murderer, and the ones in Qandil know this best. I believe that the step taken by Devlet Bahçeli and Recep Tayyip Erdoğan is the most important step for the future of Turkey. Great leaders find great solutions and take great steps. In my opinion, both leaders have taken a great step," he said.

In response to the question, "Does the YPG, which is under the influence of the USA, listen to Abdullah Öcalan?" he answered, "Apo is the leader of both the PKK and the YPG."

'I will leave active politics,' said Soylu, revealing his plan

"I HAVE TAKEN PICTURES WITH 2 MILLION INTERIOR MINISTRY CAMERAS"

Regarding the question about his photos with some individuals involved in crime being shared on social media, Soylu said, "They associate me with many organized crime groups. I go to the party, I take a picture with someone, everyone takes pictures with me. I have taken pictures with 2 million Interior Ministry cameras. Excluding those taken outside. The public says, 'Come, let’s take a picture.' I went to a wedding last night. I was a witness at the wedding. Three children came and asked, 'Can we take a picture?' What should I say, I will take it. But if I am favoring someone while they are committing an illegality or unlawfulness, then I am guilty. I do not know many of them. At the airport opening, I take a picture with someone. The person then becomes the subject of an issue. Everyone has taken pictures, but my picture stands out. I didn't eat sour, so it wouldn't hurt my stomach," he said.

"I WILL LEAVE ACTIVE POLITICS"

In response to the question of whether he will leave politics, Soylu said, "We are on one side in politics. And our side is very clear. Today, whatever principles Tayyip Erdoğan draws, our side is that. Erdoğan has also drawn a political path for Turkey for a century, an Erdoğan policy has emerged. This is very clear. I have said before that I will leave politics the day Tayyip Erdoğan leaves politics. My political parentheses are together with Tayyip Erdoğan. I had left, but he included me back into politics. May God bless him thousands of times. Our leader is our leader, and our cause is our cause. May the spoon of those who turn back from his path be broken. This is my fourth term as a deputy this year. This term of being a deputy is also my last term. To be honest, I cannot be useful in being a deputy. Being a deputy has become something else, it has turned into a system. I cannot be useful. I have a self-criticism of this kind. If someone were to ask me today, 'What would you like to be today?' I would say, 'Let me be freed,' I am at this point. Not because of this system. I am loyal to my word, and God willing, at the end of this term, I will leave active politics. I have a clear evaluation on this. I will leave this at the end of this term. I will fight fiercely for Tayyip Erdoğan to be elected once again."
