Spain's annual consumer inflation decreased to 8.3% in April, official data showed on Friday. The figure was 9.8% in March, while preliminary data had placed the April number at 8.4%. Core inflation – an index excluding unprocessed food and energy products – rose to 4.4%, the highest in over two decades, according to the National Statistics Institute. The prices of energy products and fuel jumped 33.7% and 29.9% year-on-year, respectively. On a monthly basis, the consumer prices index decreased 0.2% in April. -
