President Recep Tayyip Erdogan released a video message supporting the Turkish National Football Team as they prepare for their first match in the 2026 FIFA World Cup. In his message, Erdogan said, "From the moment you step onto the field, you will feel the support of our nation by your side." He added, "The memory of the pride we experienced in the 2002 World Cup still lives in our hearts. Now is the perfect time to write a new epic, and we will write this epic together."

From Edirne to Kars, from Sinop to Hatay, from Istanbul to Diyarbakır, every one of our 86 million citizens is united in the same feeling today."

President Erdoğan stated, "You are the children of Turkey, carrying our star and crescent flag to the world's biggest stage. Emphasizing that, even though they are thousands of kilometers away, hearts will beat for the Turkish National Football Team in every home, street, and square of Turkey, Erdoğan noted, "We have witnessed many times that you never gave up the fight with the understanding 'It's not over until we say it's over,' and what you have achieved for Turkey.
