MINISTER FIDAN HOSTED HIS SYRIAN COUNTERPART
In his statement here, Minister Fidan said: "Today we have a very valuable guest in Ankara. Our friend and brother, Syrian Foreign Minister Mr. Esad Sheybani. We have had regular meetings with him and will continue to do so because Turkey-Syria relations and regional relations require very intense coordination.
You know that the people's council elections took place in Syria on October 5. We discussed these issues at length with my dear brother. We shared our ideas. We stated that Syria needs to be removed from being a source of instability, that measures to be taken in the fight against terrorism are essential, and that no group should be excluded in Syria. Syria's engagement in the region is strengthening day by day, the latest example of which was the speech made by Syrian President Ahmed Shara at the United Nations.
"THE MOST IMPORTANT ISSUE FOR SYRIA IS ISRAEL"
Israel's attacks on Syria constitute one of the most important problems facing Syria. We addressed these unlawful actions of Israel in our meeting today and evaluated efforts to establish security in southern Syria. The provision of peace and security in Syria can only be realized by respecting the country's territorial integrity, unity, and sovereignty. As Turkey, we will continue to support these efforts. Members of the international community express their expectations from the Syrian government on every occasion.
"THE INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY MUST FULFILL ITS DUTIES TOWARDS SYRIA"
The people of Syria also have expectations from the international community. This includes opposing Israel's attacks on Syria. There is now a government in Syria that is open to cooperation with the international community. Just as Syria fulfills the duties that the international communities demand from it, the international communities must also fulfill their duties towards Syria and lift all sanctions."
SHAYDANI: THE MARCH 10 AGREEMENT WITH THE SDF REMAINS ON PAPER
Syrian Foreign Minister Shaydani stated that the agreement made with the terrorist organization SDF/YPG on March 10 remains on paper. Shaydani said, "The March 10 agreement has remained on paper, we invite the SDF to implement the agreement. We are continuing dialogue based on the principle of a single state with the SDF."
