Images have emerged regarding the scuffle that occurred in front of Çağlayan Courthouse following the court's decision to postpone the Martı TAG case, which was recently seen involving taxi drivers. The footage shows moments when taxi drivers attacked a motorcycle courier, whom they believed to be a Martı TAG driver.
The lawsuit that started with the complaint of the Taxi Drivers' Chamber against Martı TAG for "pirate transportation and unfair competition" and recently held its sixth hearing has been postponed. Following the decision, a scuffle broke out between the waiting taxi drivers and Martı TAG drivers in front of the Çağlayan Courthouse. Footage of the scuffle emerged, revealing that the taxi drivers attacked a motorcycle courier whom they mistakenly believed to be a TAG driver.
LAWSUIT POSTPONED
In 2023, the Istanbul Taxi Drivers' Tradesmen Chamber, along with the Drivers and Automobile Tradesmen Chambers in Izmir and Antalya, as well as the Istanbul Airport Taxi Cooperative and Sabiha Gökçen Airport Transportation and Operation Cooperative, initiated legal proceedings against Martı TAG for allegations of "pirate transportation" and "unfair competition."
The sixth hearing of the lawsuit, which has been ongoing for nearly two years, took place at the Istanbul 14th Commercial Court of First Instance. The court emphasized that the necessary expert report, which is essential for a healthy evaluation of the dispute, has not yet been completed, and decided that a ruling could not be made in the current situation. Therefore, the court ordered an additional expert report to be obtained for the case and postponed the hearing to June 24, 2026.
SCUFFLE IN FRONT OF THE COURTHOUSE
After the postponement of the lawsuit, tensions arose between the waiting taxi drivers and Martı TAG drivers in front of the Çağlayan Courthouse. As tensions escalated into a scuffle at times, police teams intervened with tear gas against the taxi drivers blocking the road around the courthouse.

Footage of the scuffle has emerged. The videos show moments when taxi drivers attacked a motorcycle courier whom they mistakenly believed to be a Martı TAG driver. A citizen recording the video reacted by saying, "Why are they hitting this courier, man?" as the scuffle ended with police intervention.
