A nurse in Britain won £41,000 in compensation in a lawsuit against a colleague, claiming she was excluded from tea breaks. The nurse, named Susan Hamilton, accused her colleague Abdool Nayeck of discrimination against her. It was alleged that after a dispute in 2018, Nayeck told Hamilton, "I don't like you."

A nurse in Britain won £41,000 (approximately 1 million 884 thousand TL) in compensation in a lawsuit against a colleague who excluded her from tea breaks.

Susan Hamilton, who worked as a former diabetes nurse at St Helier Hospital in South London, accused her dietitian colleague Abdool Nayeck of discrimination against her.

A disagreement related to patient care in 2018 heightened tensions between the two. Following the incident, it was alleged that Nayeck told Hamilton, "I don't like you," while the hospital management attempted to mediate between the parties.

Tea Service Discrimination and Legal Process

Hamilton claimed in court that Nayeck ignored her in meetings and excluded her from tea service, despite serving tea to the entire team. These allegations were investigated by the hospital management and led to a ruling in favor of the nurse.

Court Decision and Compensation

Employment Tribunal Judge Kathryn Ramsden stated that the hospital management had failed to take action against this situation for years, saying:

"The hospital did not intervene sufficiently in the issues among its employees. This process caused Hamilton to experience health problems."

Nurse Hamilton resigned in 2019 due to the stress she experienced. However, she returned to work in January 2021. She resigned for the second time later that year, arguing that her trust relationship with the hospital management had been broken.

While the court found Hamilton's complaints against the hospital management justified, it rejected the direct bullying allegations against Abdool Nayeck.
