With the first three-month inflation rate at 10.04 percent before the July 2026 raise, no inflation differential has occurred at this stage; however, according to the Central Bank's expectations, by the end of the first half of the year, civil servants and retirees are projected to receive a total increase of approximately 12.86 percent, including an inflation differential of about 5.48 percent on top of the 7 percent collective agreement raise, with the lowest civil servant salary expected to exceed 69 thousand lira.

As the calculations regarding civil servant salaries accelerate before the July 2026 raise, the first signals of the raise table have emerged with the inflation data for the first three months of the year.

MARCH INFLATION ANNOUNCED

According to the data announced by the Turkish Statistical Institute, inflation was 4.84 percent in January, 2.96 percent in February, and 1.94 percent in March. Annual inflation reached 30.87 percent in March, while the total inflation for the first three months reached 10.04 percent.

NO INFLATION DIFFERENCE IN THE FIRST 3 MONTHS

Civil servants received an 18.60 percent raise in January 2026 under the collective bargaining agreement. According to the 8th Term Collective Agreement, a 7 percent raise will be applied to salaries in July. However, for an inflation difference to occur, the 6-month inflation must exceed 11 percent. Based on the announced first three-month data, no inflation difference has yet occurred.

EXPECTATIONS POINT TO A 12.86 PERCENT RAISE

According to the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey survey, an inflation difference of 5.48 percent is expected by the end of the first half of the year. Based on this estimate, civil servants and retired civil servants may receive a total increase of 12.86 percent in July, including the 7 percent collective bargaining raise plus the inflation difference.

NEW TABLE FOR MINIMUM SALARIES

The current minimum civil servant salary of 61,890 lira will increase by 12.86 percent to approximately 69,843 lira. The minimum retired civil servant pension will rise from 27,772 lira to 31,341 lira.

PROFESSION-BY-PROFESSION RAISED SALARY CALCULATION

Based on the raise expectation, salaries for some professional groups were calculated as follows:

  • Professor salary from 135,089 lira to 152,450 lira,
  • Specialist doctor salary from 150,426 lira to 169,784 lira,
  • Research assistant salary from 90,568 lira to 102,214 lira,
  • Nurse salary from 74,770 lira to 84,386 lira,
  • Specialist teacher salary from 81,219 lira to 91,672 lira,
  • Teacher salary from 73,368 lira to 82,799 lira,
  • Police officer salary from 81,617 lira to 92,112 lira.
