Tensions rose during discussions in the Turkish Grand National Assembly regarding the investigations into Ekrem İmamoğlu. AK Party and CHP deputies confronted each other. One CHP deputy threw a bottle in the general assembly.
After the detention order was issued for 106 people, including İBB President Ekrem İmamoğlu, the tension in the Parliament increased with the detention of 87 individuals. While opposition parties protested İmamoğlu's detention, the General Assembly of the Parliament was postponed yesterday. Today, tensions flared up again.
During a recent operation, AK Party deputy Mustafa Hakan Özer experienced movement among the CHP ranks. A fight broke out after CHP Group Deputy Chairman Ali Mahir Başarır threw a bottle towards the AK Party ranks.
After the fight, Parliament Deputy Speaker Sırrı Süreyya Önder gave a 20-minute break to the session.
