Due to a landslide that occurred during the Manisa transition of the Istanbul-İzmir Highway, disruptions in transportation were experienced. Transportation is being provided in a controlled manner from one direction due to the landslide. The landslide occurred in the section of the Istanbul-İzmir Highway between the Saruhanlı and Turgutlu districts. After the heavy rains in the region, soil and rock fragments broke off from the slope and scattered onto the road. Upon notification, a large number of highway gendarmerie, security, and highway teams were dispatched to the scene.
3 LANES BECAME COMPLETELY UNUSABLE
As a result of the landslide, 3 lanes of the highway became completely unusable, while gendarmerie teams closed the area affected by the landslide to traffic for safety reasons, and transportation is being provided in a controlled manner from one lane. It has been learned that work in the region is ongoing to completely clear the road and ensure full safety.
