A fire that broke out in the engine compartment of a municipal bus in the Konak district of Izmir was brought under control after the passengers were evacuated. Following the incident, the bus sustained damage, and Mustafa Kemal Sahil Boulevard was closed to traffic for a while.
A fire broke out in the engine compartment of the ESHOT bus with license plate 35 DB 6229, driven by Ramazan Y, on Mustafa Kemal Sahil Boulevard in the Konak district of İzmir for an undetermined reason.
PASSENGERS WERE IMMEDIATELY EVACUATED
The driver, noticing the smoke, parked the vehicle on the right side of the road in the Karataş area and evacuated the passengers.
Upon notification, fire, police, and medical teams were dispatched to the area.
The fire, which was extinguished by the firefighters, caused damage to the bus.
THE BOULEVARD WAS CLOSED TO TRAFFIC
The boulevard, which was closed to traffic for a while for safety reasons during the fire, was reopened after the bus was towed away.
It was learned that the bus was operating between the 121 numbered Mavişehir Transfer Center and Konak.
