AGREEMENT REACHED WITH YPG IN SYRIA

The agreement signed on March 10, 2025, between Syrian President Ahmed Shara and YPG is a historic framework agreement aimed at re-establishing Syria's national unity and ending the separation in the northeast of the country.

The text confirms that the parties have primarily agreed on the immediate implementation of a comprehensive ceasefire throughout Syria. The main pillar of the agreement is the full integration of the military and administrative structures of the SDG into the national institutions of the Syrian state. Accordingly, the management of all civilian and military institutions in northeastern Syria, border crossings, airports, and vital oil and gas fields will be gradually transferred to the authority of the Syrian state. The ultimate goal of this integration is to reinforce the authority of the Syrian state over the integrity of the country.
