At the Esenkent metro station in Maltepe, a passenger attempted suicide by jumping onto the tracks shortly before the train's arrival. Thanks to the quick intervention of nearby citizens, the passenger was rescued from the tracks and survived the incident with minor injuries. Bloodstains on the tracks drew attention, and metro services were temporarily halted.
Fearful moments were experienced at the Esenkent metro station located in the Maltepe district of Istanbul around 07:45 in the morning.
JUMPED ONTO THE TRACKS AS THE TRAIN APPROACHED
According to claims, a citizen attempted suicide by jumping onto the tracks shortly before the train arrived. The passenger, whose identity has not yet been revealed, was pulled off the tracks by the quick intervention of nearby citizens. Police and 112 Emergency Health teams were dispatched to the scene upon notification.
BLOOD TRAILS LEFT ON THE TRACKS
The passenger, who was slightly injured from the jump, was taken to the hospital. Meanwhile, the blood trails left on the tracks also drew attention. Due to the incident, services on the Kadıköy-Sabiha Gökçen line were temporarily halted.
