The 12th Nuclear Power Plants Summit (NPPES), organized by the Ankara Chamber of Industry (ASO) and the Nuclear Industry Association (NSD) under the theme "New Nuclear Era: Strengthening Industry, Innovation, and Net Zero Targets," will begin tomorrow in Istanbul.
According to a statement from NSD, the summit, held with the support of the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources and lasting two days, will take place at Istanbul Technical University Süleyman Demirel Cultural Center.
The summit will address the latest developments regarding the Akkuyu Nuclear Power Plant, as well as the planned second and third nuclear power plants in Sinop and Thrace, and new nuclear energy investments on Turkey's agenda.
VARIOUS COOPERATION AGREEMENTS TO BE SIGNED AT THE SUMMIT
Domestic and foreign experts will evaluate new investment opportunities in nuclear energy, next-generation reactor technologies, and the contribution of nuclear energy to net zero targets in the lead-up to the 31st Conference of the Parties (COP31) of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, which will be hosted by Turkey this year in Antalya.
Industrialists aiming for cooperation on potential projects, particularly in the Middle East, North Africa, and the Balkans, will have the opportunity to meet with international nuclear technology producers.
Within the scope of the summit, a cooperation agreement will also be signed between the ASO Nuclear Industry Cluster (NÜKSAK) and the China Nuclear Association (CNS). Signing ceremonies for various cooperation agreements between NSD and private companies will also take place.
