In the new week, while rainy weather is expected to increase its impact across the country, temperatures in the inner and western regions are anticipated to drop by 3 to 5 degrees. Between February 16 and 18, cold weather will once again be effective in the western regions, and if temperatures in Istanbul fall below 5 degrees, we may enter Ramadan with snowfall.
The General Directorate of Meteorology announced that the rainy weather will increase its impact across the country in the new week. According to the statement, temperatures in the inner and western regions will drop by 3 to 5 degrees, and heavy rain is expected in many cities. Snowfall is anticipated in higher altitudes and some provinces.
"THE PROBABILITY OF SNOW FOR ISTANBUL IS WEAK BUT ON THE TABLE"
Meteorology expert Orhan Şen evaluated the probability of snow for Istanbul in a post on his social media account. Şen stated that cold weather will return to the western regions between February 16-18, noting that the likelihood of snowfall in Istanbul is weak, but if temperatures drop below 5 degrees, snow could be seen. He emphasized that otherwise, the precipitation could be in the form of mixed rain and snow.
STRONG RAIN IS EXPECTED ON THURSDAY AND FRIDAY
Orhan Şen noted that strong rains will be effective in the coastal areas of the western regions and the Mediterranean Region on Thursday and Friday, and temperatures will also drop significantly.
