Due to the impact of the global economic crisis, many companies in Turkey have gone bankrupt, and a popular restaurant in Beyoğlu has also joined the list. The 58-year-old Historical Şahin Restaurant in the Beyoğlu district of Istanbul has officially declared bankruptcy.
As the effects of the global economic crisis continue to shake companies in Turkey, one of Istanbul's long-established businesses, the Historic Şahin Restaurant, has also closed its doors. The famous restaurant, which has been serving in Beyoğlu for 58 years, went bankrupt due to rising costs and the economic bottleneck.
The 3rd Commercial Court of Istanbul Anatolia ruled in its decision numbered 2025/545 that the Historic Şahin Restaurant Limited Company’s request for concordat and a definitive period was rejected, determining that the company is "in a state of insolvency." The court decided to open bankruptcy proceedings as of September 26, 2025, at 15:21.
THE BANKRUPTCY DECISION WILL BE ANNOUNCED IN THE TRADE GAZETTE
According to the decision, the bankruptcy liquidation will be conducted by the 3rd Bankruptcy Directorate of Istanbul Anatolia using a simple liquidation method based on the debtor's assets. The court ruled that the bankruptcy decision should be announced in the Trade Registry Gazette.
BEYOĞLU REGULARS ARE SAD
The closure of the Historic Şahin Restaurant, known as one of Istanbul's culinary stops, has caused great sadness among the tradespeople and regulars of Beyoğlu. The local community sees this development, which they describe as "the end of an era," as one of the most concrete examples of the economic crisis.
