The parents of Oğuz Murat Aci, who was killed in a hit-and-run incident last year in Eyüpsultan by Timur Cihantimur, who is currently detained in the United States, spoke for the first time about the extradition decision. Father Özer Aci said, "I will ask them what it feels like to be the mother of a murderer, to be a murderer at the age of 16-17." Meanwhile, mother Pervin Aci noted that she would go to the airport to welcome her son.
On March 1, 2024, after being involved in a fatal traffic accident in Eyüpsultan, Istanbul, 17-year-old Timur Cihantimur, who fled to the USA and was captured in Boston, and his mother Eylem Tok, had their case regarding the request for their extradition to Turkey concluded in the US judicial authorities.
THEY WILL BE EXTRADITED TO TURKEY
Justice Minister Yılmaz Tunç announced on his social media account that the Massachusetts District Court has decided to extradite the mother and son to Turkey.
FIRST STATEMENT FROM THE ACI FAMILY
The tearful father of Aci, Özer Aci, and his mother Pervin Aci evaluated the court's decision. Father Aci stated that he learned about the decision from Justice Minister Tunç's announcement, saying, "I am starting to reap the fruits of my struggle. We will continue to fight. Their capture, imprisonment, and extradition to Turkey are all part of a process. This is a joyful event; it has eased our hearts," he said.

Father Aci noted that he would go to the airport to welcome the mother and son, saying, "I will be waiting eagerly. What does it feel like to be a mother of a killer, to be a killer at 16-17, I will ask them," he expressed. Aci also mentioned that he believes the best decision will be made by Turkish judicial authorities, stating, "I am sure a decision of educational value will come out. They troubled the Republic of Turkey for days and fled abroad. They needed to understand that they cannot escape justice; I think they have understood," he said.

Mother Pervin Aci emphasized that she was very happy when she heard the decision, saying, "I am trembling, I cannot speak. I hope they will give the necessary punishment here as well. I will go to the airport. I need to look at the face of that mother, whatever kind of mother she is. What kind of a mother is that?" she evaluated.
WHAT HAPPENED?
On March 1, 2024, one of the three ATVs in motion in Eyüpsultan broke down, and while the broken vehicle was being repaired on the roadside, one of the two vehicles moving in the same direction crashed into the three ATVs there, resulting in the death of Oğuz Murat Aci among the five injured. It was determined that the 17-year-old driver Timur Cihantimur, who caused the accident, fled the scene with his mother Eylem Tok in her vehicle and went first to Egypt and then to the USA. The request for temporary detention for the suspects was sent by the Ministry of Justice to the relevant authorities in the USA, and Justice Minister Tunç announced on his social media account that Cihantimur and his mother Tok had been arrested by the court in Boston.
