In Bitlis, astronomy enthusiasts observed the alignment of Saturn, Venus, Neptune, Uranus, Jupiter, and Mars on the same line with their telescopes. Dr. Cihan Önen captured images of this rare natural event and noted that there will be observations in 2025 that should not be missed.
Nature and space enthusiasts in Bitlis gathered around their telescopes to watch and capture the alignment of Saturn, Venus, Neptune, Uranus, Jupiter, and Mars on the same line.

For the first time in years, Saturn, Venus, Neptune, Uranus, Jupiter, and Mars aligned on the same line. Dr. Cihan Önen, who conducts nature observations and astrophotography studies, captured this rare natural event. Önen noted that the end of January and the first weeks of February 2025 offer unmissable opportunities for space enthusiasts to observe the planets.
"I OBSERVED ALL EXCEPT MERCURY"
Önen stated, "These six planets, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune, are visible in the sky during the early hours of the evening. We had the opportunity to observe the other planets except for Mercury. While Venus, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn appear as bright points to the naked eye in a dark environment, optical devices such as binoculars or telescopes are needed for Uranus and Neptune.
DAZZLING VIEW AT MINUS 10 DEGREES
After darkness fell, especially in the early hours, our chances of observing the planets increased. As space enthusiasts, we witnessed this year's dazzling sky event at temperatures reaching minus 10 degrees, equipped with binoculars and other optical devices to ensure we didn't miss this magnificent celestial event," he said.
