The application for the cancellation of the extraordinary congress held by the CHP in recent days has been concluded. The Çankaya District Election Board announced that it has rejected the application.

Former Hatay Mayor from CHP, Lütfü Savaş, filed a lawsuit at the Ankara 31st Civil Court of First Instance for the annulment of the CHP congress held on November 4-5, 2023, where Özgür Özel was elected as the new chairman. In the lawsuit petition, it was claimed that the will of the delegates was undermined, and the removal of the party management was requested. The petition stated that Özel won the election by only a margin of 18 votes.

DECISION ON THE CONGRESS WAS MADE

While the investigation regarding the congress continues, CHP Chairman Özgür Özel decided to hold an Extraordinary Congress, claiming that his party would be 'subject to a trustee appointment.'
