Police and health teams were dispatched to an apartment in Izmir after reports of a foul odor. Upon opening the door, the teams encountered the lifeless body of a 60-year-old man. Investigations suggested that the individual had died five days prior, and a sample was taken from the alcohol found in a plastic bottle.
Residents of a three-story building located in the Barbaros neighborhood of Bornova, İzmir, reported a bad smell to the 112 Emergency Call Center after it spread from an apartment. Following the report, health and police teams were dispatched to the address.
A 5-DAY-OLD CORPSE WAS FOUND
With the help of relatives, police teams opened the door of the apartment where 60-year-old Hüseyin Yavuz resided. Upon entering the house, the teams encountered Yavuz's lifeless body. After the prosecutor's examination at the scene, Yavuz's body was taken to the İzmir Forensic Medicine Institute morgue. The initial examination conducted by the teams estimated that the corpse was approximately 5 days old.
SUSPECT OF FAKE ALCOHOL
Police teams, who found alcohol in a plastic bottle and evaluated the suspicion of poisoning, sent the sample taken from the alcohol to the Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry for examination.
