On the third day of the Ramadan Bayram holiday, 663 traffic accidents occurred, resulting in the deaths of 8 people and injuries to 1,120 others. In the first three days of the holiday, the number of fatalities from traffic accidents rose to 27, while the number of injured increased to 3,619.

Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya shared traffic data regarding the 9-day Ramadan Bayram holiday. Minister Yerlikaya reported that 663 traffic accidents occurred on the 3rd day of the holiday. He announced that 8 people lost their lives in these accidents and 1,120 people were injured.

27 FATALITIES, 3,619 INJURED

In the first 3 days of the Ramadan Bayram holiday, a total of 27 people lost their lives, and 3,619 people were injured. In his statement, Yerlikaya used the following expressions: "On the 3rd day of the Ramadan Bayram holiday (Monday), 663 traffic accidents occurred. Unfortunately, 8 of our citizens lost their lives, and 1,120 of our citizens were injured. May our holiday mornings be filled with joy, not tears. Please obey traffic rules so that the joy of our holiday does not turn into sorrow. Roads exist to bring us together, not to separate us. Unfortunately, in the first 3 days of the holiday (Saturday, Sunday, and Monday), 27 of our citizens lost their lives. 3,619 of our citizens were injured.

530,000 VEHICLES INSPECTED IN A DAY

During the 9-day Ramadan Bayram holiday, our Police and Gendarmerie Traffic Teams continue their inspections. On the 3rd day of the holiday, March 31, 2025, our traffic teams inspected 528,654 vehicles. Speed and radar operations were conducted on 27,387 vehicles, and other operations were carried out on 29,616 vehicles. Our inspections are not for penalizing but to prevent accidents and to reduce our fatalities to zero. I pray for God's mercy on our citizens who lost their lives and wish a speedy recovery to the injured.
